Our company is managed by individuals that are both knowledgeable and highly experienced in our industry. Throughout our history we have offered an unprecedented level of care, experience and service to our clients.

Christopher Vandenberg, J.D. - President

Christopher serves as the President and Chief Financial Officer of Trace Ambulance. Christopher has been involved with the ambulance industry since childhood. Prior to becoming President and CFO, Christopher held roles in virtually all aspects of the business including as a vehicle porter, billing clerk, EMT-B, call-taker, and Emergency Medical Dispatcher. Christopher also is the Chief Financial Officer of AMB Tran Group, Ltd. – a private holding company operating ambulance companies operating under the names of ATI Ambulance, Trace Ambulance and Vandenberg Ambulance. At AMB Tran Group, Ltd., he heads the accounting and legal departments and spearheads various lobbying efforts on behalf of the organization and the private ambulance industry as a whole.

Prior to AMB Tran Group, Ltd., Christopher was the manager of the State of Illinois’ only seed and early stage venture capital program for the Illinois Finance Authority. During that time he managed an active portfolio of over 20 investments, participating in over 25 transactions representing in excess $57,000,000 of capital invested. At IFA, his responsibilities included negotiating and executing private placements and representing the IFA on the Boards’ of Directors, overseeing the operation and management of start-up technology companies. He also participated in a number of debt transactions for a variety of different types of entities, including local governments units, not for profits and small manufacturing businesses.

Christopher currently sits on the Board of the Norwegian American Hospital Foundation and Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation. Christopher also serves as the President for the Illinois State Ambulance Association and as a member of the American Ambulance Association Government Affairs Committee. Additionally, Christopher is admitted to the Bar for the State of Illinois and in the Northern district of Illinois. He maintains his memberships in the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Christopher received his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in 2008 and his Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University in 2002. Christopher also holds licenses as an EMT-B and Emergency Medical Dispatcher.

William Goetz, EMT-P - Vice President of Operations

Bill currently serves as the Vice President of Operations for Trace Ambulance. Bill started his EMS career as a paramedic in 1990. Prior to joining Trace Ambulance, Bill served two years in the United States Navy as an Intelligence and Communication specialist. In late 1990, Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for six years as a Recon Marine Sniper, serving in Desert Shield (1990-1991) and Desert Storm (1991-1992). Upon his return from service in 1996, Bill resumed his position as a paramedic In 2001, William was appointed as the EMS Coordinator/General Manager for Trace Ambulance. Bill has held multiple positions during his tenure, including Dispatcher, EMS education coordinator and Personnel Manager with the company. William’s leadership style and EMS experience make him an invaluable asset to the Trace management team.

Bill graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Degree in Education. Bill also holds licenses as a Paramedic and Emergency Medical Dispatcher.

Cyd Gajewski, RN MS - Vice President of Clinical Services

Cyd currently serves the Director of Education and Quality Improvement for Trace Ambulance. Cyd has an extensive background in EMS administration and education beginning with her role as the EMS coordinator at Our Lady of the Resurrection Hospital. During this time she planned, developed and implemented the EMT-B and Paramedic programs for Wright and Malcolm X Colleges. She went on to work at Illinois Masonic Medical Center as the Resource Hospital Coordinator for 11 years providing medical oversight as well as developing educational, quality improvement, policy and operational programs for Chicago Fire Department EMS and private providers.

Following her departure from Illinois Masonic, Cyd worked with the Illinois Department of Public Health as its Hospital and Bioterrorism Coordinator, where she worked with hospitals and EMS agencies in the development of their disaster preparedness plans. This experience led to her position as co-founder and President of PPERS (Private Provider Emergency Response System). Cyd continues to work at the State level in participating in EMS committees including, Critical Care Committee, Emerging Issues in EMS and is the chairperson for IDPH Strategic Planning Operations committee.

Cyd also continues to work closely with the Chicago EMS system by being the chairperson for the Region XI Education Committee and Private Provider CQI committee. Additionally she sits on the Region XI Operations Committee, Region XI EMS Advisory Board, Region XI Strategic Planning Committee, Region XI Stroke Advisory Committee, American Heart Association Mission Lifeline Task Force for the Chicago area and she represents private providers on the Hospital Evacuation Committee thru MCHC.

Cyd graduated from Cook County School of Nursing and completed her graduate studies at Lewis University in Health Care Administration and Education.

Rose Brown, CCRN BSN - Chief Nurse of Critical Care

Rose serves as the Director of Critical Care for Trace Ambulance. Rose’s professional experience has included over 20 years of telemetry and critical care nursing and inter-facility critical care transports. Rose has been Trace’s Critical Care Nurse since the company’s inception in 1996. Initially, Rose served as Trace’s primary critical care nurse, transporting patients that were beyond a paramedic’s scope of practice. Since 2010, Rose has been integral in the development of Trace’s Critical Care Program by serving as its chief clinical resource. Rose is responsible for educating and training all employees and working as a clinical liaison for Trace by tailoring the Critical Care program to meet the specific needs of its healthcare partners and the communities in which they serve. Ms. Brown guides the continuing expansion of medications and interventions for the Critical Care Program.

In addition to her clinical time, Rose has recently received her NAEMSE Instructor Certification. Rose serves as a mentor to Trace’s EMTs, Paramedics and Critical Care Paramedics by providing them with experience and education while in the field. Besides her mentorship and team building, Ms. Brown keeps her transport team and CCEMTPs happy by providing them with her notorious candies and chocolates. Rose actively volunteers and participates in several Trace Ambulance sponsored events.

Rose graduated from Saint Xavier University with a BSN in Nursing.

Denise Vincent - Director of Patient Accounts

Denise Vincent currently serves as the Director of Patient Accounts for Trace Ambulance. Denise oversees the twenty-five member Patient Accounts department and is responsible for handling contracts with hospitals, SNFs, Hospice and Palliative Care Providers and managed care organizations. Denise began her career with ATI Ambulance in 1999 working in Patient Accounts as a customer service representative.

Denise’s is an expert on billing procedures and documentation. Denise stays current with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance carriers by attending conferences and seminars regarding compliance and procedures. Denise’s dedication to customer service is attributed to her excellent communication skills and contracting familiarity.

Denise is a Certified Ambulance Coder by the National Academy of Ambulance Coding. She also has an Associates of Science Degree.

Denise grew up in Tinley Park and currently resides with her wonderful husband, Matt, and their loveable dog, Daisie in New Lenox, Illinois. Denise loves walking, reading, cooking, listening to music and especially laughing. Denise has many philosophies on life, work and family such as “Every day is a “Gift” and “Live the life you love! “.

Cheryl VanSipma, RN - Compliance Officer

Cheryl serves as the Compliance Officer for Trace Ambulance. Cheryl’s role consists of conducting internal audits and QI, ensuring that transports are properly received, documented and billed. Cheryl began her career in EMS graduating from the first Paramedic class at Silver Cross Hospital over 30 years ago. After working as a paramedic for several years, Cheryl went on to become the EMS Coordinator for the South Holland Police and Fire Department. Cheryl went on to work in the ED at Ingalls Hospital until she was appointed by Illinois Department of Public Health as a Regional EMS/Bioterrorism Coordinator. For ten years, Cheryl regulated the activities for the State in Regions 7 and 11. Her position included providing oversight of training, State testing and all re-licensure of First Responders, EMT’s, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Dispatchers, Trauma Nurse Specialists, Pre-Hospital and Emergency Communication RN’s; annual inspection of ambulances; inspections for designation of Emergency Department Approval for Pediatrics and Trauma Centers and approval and renewal of EMS System plans.

Cheryl is a founding member of Illinois Medical Emergency Response Team (IMERT). Through IMERT, Cheryl worked collaboratively with State agencies to create a response team that is properly trained and equipped to respond to mass casualty events throughout the State.

Cheryl graduated from Purdue University with a BSN in Nursing.

Frank Falco - Account Representative

Frank Falco is the Account Representative for Trace Ambulance and has several years of marketing experience in the ambulance industry. Frank also has been serving the City of Chicago as a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) since 2003. Mr. Falco’s unique ability to integrate his knowledge of the greater Chicagoland area and the dynamics of the private ambulance industry allows Frank to excel in developing long lasting relationships throughout the Trace geographic territory. Frank takes great pride in developing relationships in an ever-growing industry and enhancing these relationships on a daily basis.

Frank attended high school at St. Ignatius College Prep and earned his Bachelor’s from Loyola University.
